Supervisor: Manager
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt, Part -Time Regular
Wage: $8.00 hour
Effective Date of Hire: Estimated end of March 2010

General Functions
Preparation of a variety of coffee beverages. Preparation and re-sale of various hot and cold beverages, including bottled and canned drinks. Selling of prepared foods including, but not limited to, muffins, biscotti, panini, bagels, and various cold plates. This position requires heavy customer contact and excellent customer service skills. A positive attitude is required at all times in order to ensure the return of our customers who are the reason for our business. Incumbent will work closely with MILUX clients.
Duties and Responsibilities, including but not limited to:
• Preparation of hot and cold beverages, prepared foods for re-sale
• Accurate cash handling and reconciliation of change due to customers
• Opening and/or closing the coffee shop as scheduled. A check-off list will be provided
• Cleaning and sanitation as required by the State of New York and MILUX requirements in order to provide the highest level of customer service possible
• Consistent and timely attendance
• Provide exceptional customer service on a daily basis
• Other duties as assigned or modified to include basic office procedures
• Client Relations: Maintains a respectful relationship with clients
• Internal Relations:
o Required to maintain and comply with federal confidentiality laws as outline in 42 CFR, Part 2 and the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA)
o Maintains a positive working relationship with MILUX staff and support management of the organization
o Participates in scheduled external/internal meetings and training’s as requested
Job Specifications:
Demonstrated ability to:
• Handle stress under pressure
• Provide quality customer service
• Learn and use technical equipment (espresso machine)
• Accurately exchange money with customers
• Reconcile all cash and money at the end of the day
• Follow inventory stocking and recording guidelines
• Maintain a clean, healthy, and safe working environment
• Learn and use company computer to input data on a daily basis
• Coordinate multiple activities with attention to detail
• Work independently, with minimal supervision
Qualifications:
• Previous barista or food service establishment experience preferred
• Must be able to lift and move 25 lbs
• Continued employment status will be contingent upon satisfactory completion of a state and federal criminal background check
• Must have one year continuous sobriety prior to hire if a recovering alcoholic or drug addict and participate in a self-help program
• US Work authorization

ma con 8 dollari all’ora si riesce a vivere a ny? quante ore al giorno si possono fare non penso piu di 10, va be che ci sono le mance ma, si riesce a vivere?

Trovare lavoro a New York non e’ impossibile, anche se molto difficile. Vi consigliamo di leggere l’articolo: http://www.inewyork.it/voglio-lavorare-studiare-viaggiare-negli-stati-uniti-che-visto-ho-bisogno.html, che da qualche consiglio in piu’ su come fare dal punto di vista burocratico. Doveste avere altre domande, non esitate a contattarci!

Ciao Davide, il problema di cercare lavoro a New York e’ il visto lavorativo, che difficilmente viene concesso. Ti consigliamo innanzitutto di iscriverti ad un corso di lingua, e poi vedere come vanno le cose una volta qui!

buona sera sono massimo dabbicco io sono un barman aibes ho 34 anni io e la mia amica mina dipalma anche lei barman aibes ha 36 anni abbiamo gestito insieme un american bar a bari pur troppo le cose, tipo i tempi sono cambiati in italia vorremmo fare un esperienza a ny city noi venimmo nel 2009 io specialmente mi sono innamorato della grande mela(big apple).
Io ad essere un barman ,sono un bartender ,caffetteria ,intaglio di frutta ,scultura di frutta ,insegno nella associazione aibes corsi d’intaglio ,caffetteria ,tecniche di mescita e miscelazione parlo un ottimo inglese .
